ADMISSION OF CHILDREN TO NEW LIFE.
The story..... Recently the President & Founder of New Life Orphanage admitted SIX CHILDREN which were like blessings from God. A temporary Guardian came from ARIF KHAN to NEW LIFE ORPHANAGE at 8am and urgently sought a responsible person at the Orphanage. He was treated very well by Staff and our Founder was asked to come and meet him. He was asked what we could do for him, and he started weeping and said he had heard about NEW LIFE and he brought six children (of his close relatives) who died in military operation in BAJOR AGENCY ( WAZIRASTAN) where there is severe fighting between the Army and the Taliban. Such families are affected a lot and many children became orphans. The man didn’t want to send them to camps where there was no proper care for them and they could die of starvation or even be abducted to join the same organisations to work against the country. Our Founder replied to him “no problem” but we had to discuss with the President - as well with the Orphanage Staff. Also the man was requested whether he knows anybody in Rawalpindi or Islamabad who could give the Orphanage a guarantee that he or she knows him. He replied that he had his one relative living close to New Life Orphanage, so he moved there overnight with the children awaiting a decision. Our Founder informed him to meet on Monday sharp. After discussing with the President in detail - agreement was reached. The children arrived on Sunday and the first handover of the 8 months baby boy to the teacher Aysha took place she was weeping and when the baby went to her he slept in her lap. So we signed the papers and six children have been admitted at NEW LIFE ORPHANAGE. The children are all one family who parents were killed in the conflict. Amongst the six children are twins. Now the children have integrated with the other children. There is one problem which is language. They speak Pushto but understand URDU a bit. Thanks to teacher who speaks Pushto too and she talks to them and soon they will learn URDU as well as ENGLISH. OUR PICTURES SHOW THE CHILDREN AS THEY ARRIVE AT NEW LIFE ORPHANAGE. FUTURE PLANS OF THE ORPHANAGE The New Life Orphanage has plans to network with like-minded Individuals, Mosques, Churches and Organizations both locally and international to foster and protect the cause and rights of poor and homeless children nationally and around the world. It will also be the plan of the Orphanage to establish an Orphanage Clinic or Hospital to take care and handle health needs of the Orphanage Children as well as children and poor people from the surrounding communities within the Orphanage catchment area. It is also the plan of the Orphanage to establish a Vocational Training Centre or Institute to train the Female Orphans with hand-works and develop their human skills, potential, and resources practically. It expects to expand its orphan Children’s intake capacity, as finances allow, to enable it take up new Orphan Children as much as possible from time to time. ACTIVITIES Child Welfare: Generally, children who have one parent alive are not admitted, but the NLO board makes certain exceptions based on their poverty levels etc. Pure orphans are our first priority.New children are admitted to our orphanage periodically. We normally admit children who have lost both their parents. We provide an hygienic environment, balanced nutritious food, clothing, shelter, education, morals, basic family values, culture, and above all the true value of love and affection.We get an unexplainable sense of satisfaction by serving these children.New Life Orphanage has plans to improve and provide a foundation for the future of the orphan children and various other weaker groups of our society. Our future plans depends on the help extended by the Churches, supporters, NLO Friends and individuals; Polytechnic: We have been planning to set up a Polytechnic institute to facilitate a better future for the orphan
children after their basic schooling. NLO plans to set up a polytechnic institute with various departments/across various
fields enabling the children to qualify in a field/trade they are interested in. This will help children obtain technical
qualifications in mechanical, civil, electrical, electronics, computer science and other such areas, which will help them
during their job hunt in the corresponding field. Besides helping the orphan children of NLO, this project will also
help thousands of other orphan children in the state. We propose to set up the required plant and machinery, construct the
building and get recognition from the government as early as possible. We hope to start the NLO polytechnic institute within
the next three of years. Computer Training Centre: Importance of Information Technology/Computer Technology is increasing exponentially in Pakistan. Even villages in our country are slowly developing in this field. Infrastructure such as access to Internet etc have increased dramatically. Given the circumstances, in order to have the children in our orphanage well-qualified in the filed of computers, we plan to start a Computer Training Centre. This centre also will not only cater for the needs of the children of NLO but will help the orphan children coming from various organisations in surrounding area. We require at least computers to start this Computer Training Centre. Food, health and education - financial assistance to pay workers and teachers - financial assistance to pay electricity bills - Supply of food items such as rice, corn, wheat, pulses,fruit, chocolates,ice-cream etc. - Provision of essential drugs - cooking utensils, etc. - Provision of text books, library materials and other teaching and learning aids for the school at the primary level. - Provision of a sick bay to cater for very minor sickness and injuries. - Provision of a clinic - here the need to get one for the orphanage for emergency situations. - Construction of a six-classroom block to cater for the children from primary one to primary six. - Provision of a school library block to safeguard the educational materials of the school.
